Elizabeth Schubert (Geneva, N.Y.) – Aside from the building work there’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes at Extreme Makeover Edition in Geneva.
When volunteers and construction crews are hungry, they head to the catering tent -- where all water and soda is provided by local vendors. Everyday, 200 to 350 people put away a total of 5 meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner at 6, dinner at 10 and, for round-the-clock crew, food at 2 in the morning.
If you’re part of a production or design team and you’re hungry you’d visit Rick Frost – a food vendor from Honeoye. He travels to fairs and festivals all across New York and provides everything from fruit to nuts--that includes lots of meats.
“We have BBQ beef warming up…when one pan gets empty, we bring another out,” he said. “We never run out of food. We even made bread earlier today.”
Looking at the production area, youl see a total of 9 RVs…all donated from local owner, Johnston County RVs. These RVs house everyone from editors to production crew to talent.
One very special RV is Ty Pennington’s. It’s a Class-A place to be. To check out his digs view the video that accompanies this story.
Our last stip was the editors RV where they cut the construction footage of the new house and send updates to the Hill family while they’re on vacation. But they only get to see a little—the rest is under wraps until Monday’s big revelation.
Around 4:45 p.m. crews started laying the second floor system.
While they were still working on that, United Rental, a company that provides building equipment for the Extreme Makeover crew…actually brought in pieces so workers could would not have to stop for anything…they’re just a little bit behind schedule.
