Geneva, N.Y. -- An Ontario County man accidentally shot himself in the leg Wednesday night and had to be taken by Mercy Flight to the hospital.
Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies say Noel Mincer, 66, of Geneva, was in his home adjusting his shoulder holster when the gun accidentally fired.
Police say he crawled out of his home and drove to the Hall Fire Department on Route 14A, where he pulled the fire alarm and waited for emergency personnel to arrive.
Mincer was taken by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital for surgery.
Police say charges are not pending, and the gun was registered to Mincer.
