Rochester, N.Y.—Thursday night's Fringe Festival featured theatrical performances from street to sky.
Push Physical Theatre performers impressed onlookers with their slow-motion synchronized movements.
“I’ve always wanted to see physical theatre and I’ve never had a chance to watch. To watch these two men is wonderful,” said Bob Follmer, a volunteer.
Push gave a brief show reminiscent of the film, “The Matrix.”
Not far from Push, applause could be heard as a juggler hurled soccer balls into the air.
Spectators said Fringe Festival provided a different feel compared to other major city events such as the Lilac Festival or Park Avenue Festival.
“At other festivals you have vendors lining for however long they are. Here everyone gets to witness and see perhaps something they have never seen before,” said Follmer.
At 8 p.m. the main attraction began to rappel down Rochester’s HSBC building.
Bandaloop’s aerial ballet drew lengthy applause from the those in attendance.
Spectators of all ages were seen lining Court Street, or sitting on nearby sidewalks gazing at the performance.
Fringe Festival continues through the weekend. Some acts are free. There are various ticket costs for admission to other performances.
