Alabama, N.Y. – Fire destroyed a house on Bloomingdale Road Sunday morning.
Fire officials say a man was on the roof in his bare feet trying to push the burning chimney away from the house when they arrived. He sustained burns to his legs.
More than 10 departments fought the fire. High winds caused it to spread, officials say. The house is a total loss.
