Rochester, N.Y. - 13WHAM News has learned the man accused of inappropriately touching the feet of young girls at local libraries is competent to stand trial.

In August, a judge ruled Anthony Perri, 49, was incompetent to stand trial after he failed two evaluations. Perri had been ordered to spend a year in a mental health facility, and face trial if and when he'd been found to be competent.

Perri was arrested at the Penfield Public Library in July and charged with three counts of sex abuse and three counts of child endangerment.

Police say he took a 6-year-old girl's shoe off, fondled her feet and then pressed her foot against his face.

Perri was also a suspect in similar cases at libraries and book stores in Brighton, Pittsford and Henrietta.
