Fort Worth, Texas - The owner of American Airlines is being heavily fined by the Federal Aviation Authority.
According to the Wall Street Journal, safety violations will cost them more than $160 million.
Violations include failing to perform repairs and jets being put back into service with inoperable equipment.
The airline spokesperson says it will work with the FAA to find ways to "resolve this consensually."
