Animals Killed in Barn Fire

Romulus, N.Y. - Three animals were killed in a barn fire in Romulus in Seneca County - over the weekend.

Sheriff’s Deputies say the homeowner, 26-year-old Jesse Stoltzfus was burning debris behind the barn then later found the barn had caught on fire. 

Deputies say Stoltzfus tried to rescue two cows and a horse inside but the flames were too intense. All three animals died.

Firefighters say the barn was a total loss but a nearby barn structure that contained numerous chickens was saved by firefighters.
