Irondequoit/Victor: It was sent anonymously to the Eastridge Athletic Department. It was titled: "The Top Ten Reasons Victor Will Kick The Crap Out Of Eastridge."
The Victor School District says it investigated and found nothing to connect that list to the Victor Football team.
Dave Yates is both a parent of an Eastridge student and the spokesman for the East Irondequoit School District.
Yates says he didn't like the words used in the list or the name calling. In one case, the list calls the team's quarterback a "midget." It also refers to Eastridge players as "a bunch of hoodlums."
Yates says while no one likes to hear things like this, he doesn't see this as bullying or threats, but "trash talk" among arch rivals.
Victor parent Luanne Burgess called the list "disappointing" but said it wasn't threatening and was not unlike any other rivalry she has seen among football teams. The exception in this case? She says it was put out on social media for all to see.
Burgess says: "They get riled up. That's how they spar one another to do good."
Burgess says she doesn't like to see the name-calling and insults, because it takes the "fun" out of sports, and she understands why parents would be upset.
Yates says these are two rivals, with a lot of history who will settle their differences on the field.
The big game between Victor and Eastridge is at 7 p.m. Friday under the lights at Eastridge's new stadium.
