Henrietta, N.Y. – A restaurant chain gave active and former military members a tasty gift on Veterans Day.

Applebee's franchises across New York State and Connecticut offered free meals to veterans Sunday.

The Henrietta location had about 150 people take advantage of the offer Sunday afternoon, according to Matt McCormick, general manager. He said it was a good way for veterans to share their stories.

“We welcome them in and give them someone to be able to bond with,” McCormick said. “It’s interesting to get quite a few parties that actually talk amongst each other and bond and tell stories with.”
