Albany, N.Y. – New Yorkers can now get money back when buying some energy efficient appliances. A website to help New Yorkers get a rebate is now live.
The site lists high-efficiency refrigerators and clothes washers eligible for rebates under the new $3 million rebate program. Rebates of $350 will be available for high-efficiency refrigerators and $250 for high-efficiency clothes washers.
The web site provides an application for consumers to download, fill out and mail in with their original receipt of purchase. Applications will also be available by calling 1-877-NY-SMART (877-697-6278). Rebates will be awarded on a first-come, first-served. Purchases made prior to Friday, September 2 are not eligible.
