Gates, N.Y. - Prosecutors said two suspects who were arrested Thursday for a series of bank robberies had allegedly gambled away the stolen cash.

Brandon Rothenburgh, 34, and James Nicholson, 34, both of Syracuse, are accused of three bank robberies in Gates, and one in Auburn.

A criminal complaint claims the men robbed the First Niagara Bank at 2632 Lyell Avenue in Gates on June 18, and again on August 7.

Rothenburgh and Nicholson are also accused of bank robberies at the Citizens Bank at 2042 Chili Avenue in Gates on July 12 and a Bank of America in Auburn on August 30.

Prosecutors said they gambled away $68,000 of the stolen cash at Turning Stone Casino.

Both men are now behind bars.
