Police: Driver Asleep, Car Burst Into Flames

Rochester, N.Y. - A driver whose car went up in flames after crashing overnight—escaped safely.

State police say that the driver of the car was on Route 590 South near Route 490 around 1:30 Tuesday morning.

That's when, police say, he fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into a barrier.

The car burst into flames.

Emergency crews arrived and quickly put out the fire.

The driver had no injuries and was not ticketed.
