Rochester, N.Y. - Rochester Mayor Tom Richards touted the success of its Cool Sweep program on Tuesday.
Attendance was up over the summer at Durand Eastman Beach, spray parks and summer swim programs.
A Cool Sweep is declared in the City of Rochester when temperatures are forecasted to reach 85 degrees.
Over the summer, there were 22 Cool Sweep declarations, compared to just 12 in the summer of 2011.
