Rochester, N.Y. - According to organizers - the first Rochester Fringe Festival was an unqualified success.
Organizers say more than 33,000 people attended the 5 day event - more than twice their estimate of 15,000.
Police estimated that more than 6,000 people attended last Thursday's free performance of the aerial dance company - Bandaloop - as they danced along the side of the HSBC Plaza building.
Organizers also say headliners - Harlem Gospel Choir and comedian Patton Oswalt - also sold very well - and several of the 20 other venues had to turn people away - especially on Saturday night.
