Chili, N.Y.- Local aviation enthusiasts will be flying high this weekend.
The 11
th annual Rochester Wings Aviation Expo will be held this Friday and Saturday at the USAirports Flight Facility on Scottsville Road.
The event includes aviation safety seminars, flight instruction, aircraft static displays, career seminars, runway safety bus tours and opportunities to take a first Discovery flight lesson or scenic flight.
Organizers say an important aspect of the event focuses on youth with an interest in becoming a hobbyist or a career pilot and getting them on the right path to achieving their goals.
Introductory “Discovery Flights” are available for a fee and take place at Wings.
Discovery flights give people a "hands-on" first flight lesson accompanied by a Certified Flight Instructor and complete with a log book.
