London - The BBC published a report Wednesday, Dec. 19 about its handling of child sex abuse claims against one of its leading broadcasters.
The report absolves BBC executives of trying to bury the sex-abuse scandal and blames chaos--not cover-up--for failure to publish the report in timely fashion.
Last year, an investigative report into Jimmy Savile by the BBC's flagship news program was cancelled and the BBC denied the accusations that it shut down the report because its release clashed with planned tributes after Savile died.
Savile was a suspect in 199 sex crimes -- some against children -- including 31 rape allegations.
