Greece, N.Y. - Multiple sources confirm to 13WHAM News that State Assemblyman Bill Reilich is considered the "leading candidate" for the GOP's Greece Town Supervisor nomination.

Longtime Supervisor John Auberger cannot run this year because of term limits.

The Greece Republican Committee heard recommendations from its candidates screening committee at a meeting Thursday night.

After the meeting, Reilich and other ranking Republicans left through a side door without talking to the media.

Democrats have not yet named a candidate for Greece Town Supervisor, however four names are being discussed, according to party sources: Dave Garretson, Rita Garretson, Dan Maloney, and Dick Beebee.

Republicans have a press conference scheduled for Friday, at which Bill Reilich is expected to make a major announcenement.
