Ontario County, N.Y. - Paychex founder and billionaire Tom Golisano is in court Thursday to fight the assessment of a house he had built six years ago.

Golisano says he should be reimbursed for paying too much on the house he built for his daughter in Victor in 2006. His lawsuit is against Ontario County, Victor, and the school district there for tax dollars that he paid above value over a four-year period. The period in question: 2008 to 2011.

In each of the four tax cycles, the home was assessed between $2.3 million and $3.4 million.

The original asking price was $4.2 million. Golisano says the home cost $5 million to build.

The home is a 10-room mansion at 1648 Malone Road in Victor. His daughter intended to live there, but Golisano took over ownership when she couldn't afford it. It was sold for $1.3 million in February this year.

Golisano was the first one to testify Thursday.

13WHAM's Sean Carroll is in court and will have live reports tonight on 13WHAM News at 5 & 6.
