Rochester, N.Y. – A Mass Sunday morning honored local, state and federal law enforcement officers.

The annual Blue Mass at Sacred Heart Cathedral, presided over by Bishop Matthew Clark, recognized the officials for their service and offered prayers for their continued safety.

Father Kevin McKenna from Sacred Heart said it’s a good way to recognize efforts that often go unnoticed.

“They’re a wonderful help to us and our area and our neighborhood,” he said. “We think it’s appropriate that we give them some appreciation and thanks for that service.”
