(Brockport. N.Y.) -- The support for an injured Rochester police officer continues.

On Sunday, the Brockport community and the College at Brockport held an Italian dinner benefit at The Stoneyard in Brockport for Anthony DiPonzio, a SUNY Brockport graduate.

He was shot in the back of the head in January.

Bill Sachman, a friend of Anthony DiPonzio, said. "It's still a shock what happened to Tony but he's a strong individual and he's going to pull through this. And, it's great to see the Brockport community and the College at Brockport put an event together like this to help Tony and his family."

Organizers say they raised over $3,000 for DiPonzio and his family.
