Brockport, N.Y. The Mayor of Brockport will continue to oversee the code enforcement in the village.

A proposition up for a vote Tuesday would have put the code enforcement officer and code enforcement inspector under the supervision of the police chief instead of the mayor.

Preliminary results were 466 votes for the proposition and 548 votes against the proposition.

In March, Mayor Connie Castaneda was arrested and charged with violating village code. She is accused of renting out part of her property to college students.
