Canandaigua, N.Y. - A burst pipe in the sprinkler system of Canandaigua's Wood Library caused significant water damage on Monday afternoon.

Firefighters helped to control the problem after being called to the North Main Street library around 3 p.m. on Monday.

"Unfortunately, the building and some of our collections have sustained water damage," said Library Director Jenny Goodemote.

Cleanup is underway at the library, and the facility will remain closed until Tuesday.
