Rochester, N.Y.- Dozens of community members gathered Sunday to remember a 21-year-old man shot and killed outside of a Rochester bar last week.
Deavoughn Hernandez-Ruffin was shot after a fight that started inside the Bug Jar early Monday spilled onto the street.
Sunday, members of the hip hop community held a peace gathering.
They walked from the Liberty Pole to the Bug Jar on Monroe Avenue.
James Niche, founder of Actlive Music says the shooting was an isolated incident.
"This hip hop community is a really vibrant community here, a very positive group of people here,” said Niche. “We don't condone this type of behavior in this community. We don't stand for violence."
The Bug Jar voluntarily closed its doors following the shooting, but police announced Friday that after a security review is completed, it eventually will reopen.
