Henrietta, N.Y.— Friday was a busy night of fastening chains and crawling under cars for Steve Wlosinski of Action Towing and Service. Snowy, icy roads kept him busy.

“I don’t recommend anybody driving in it,” said Wlosinski.

His employer alone had 20 trucks on the road Friday night.

“We’re making money tonight, but I’d rather see people safe and not in the ditch,” said Wlosinski.

Donna D’Angio’s Subaru was not among the cars in ditches, but her husband’s Prius was.

“When he tried to back up, his car slid away,” explained D’Angio, whose husband, Carl was stuck on a street just five minutes from their Pittsford home.

It took a couple of tries, but freeing his car was far from the toughest task Wlosinski faced, Friday night.

“(There was) One in a creek, one that was totally submerged in a creek. Had to go down and get wet,” said Wlosinski.
