Rochester, N.Y. – People of all different religions addressed issues involving children Sunday.
Services and prayer vigils around the world marked the Children’s Sabbath, emphasizing education and poverty.
The service at Sacred Heart Cathedral focused on children of diverse cultures. Children from Poland, Burma and several African countries, among others, attended the event in Rochester.
"Usually the cultural groups celebrate their Mass with their own culture,” said Sister Janet Korn of Catholic Ministries Appeal. “This brings us together as one family.”
