Greece, N.Y. – Local roads were slipperier Saturday than they have been this holiday season, but they were also busier, as shoppers headed out for some last-minute shopping.

The final Saturday before Christmas made for long lines and relatively limited parking.

Many stores have extended hours leading up to Christmas. Macy’s stores are open for 48 straight hours, until 7 a.m. Sunday.

Shoppers at the Mall at Greece Ridge Saturday tried to keep a positive attitude amid the chaos.

“I like the last-minute rush, the family rush,” said Brandy Hardy of Greece. “We get up really early, have breakfast and have our day at the mall. We like it.”

“We’re finishing up all the little stuff,” said Trish Prest of Albion. “We actually stayed in Henrietta overnight to get some shopping done. Now we’re leaving the kids at home and enjoying a couple minutes by ourselves to finish up.”
