Mumford, N.Y. – Did you know that balloons were used to monitor troop movements during the Civil War?
Genesee Country Village and Museum is showing off a replica of a manned Civil War balloon used by Union troops 150 years ago.
Museum visitors will be able to take rides in the balloon, weather permitting.
The new exhibit is 15 months in the making.
