Greece, N.Y. - The anticipation for Cody Simpson to take the stage built for hours Monday afternoon at Greece Ridge Mall.
“I came here at one o'clock,” said Jaylynn Vanwuyckhuyse, who got out of school early for the show.
“I've been here since 1:30 p.m.,” said Alexis Alcerrea.
Young fans with high energy started cheering well before Simpson took the stage.
Simpson, a 15-year-old Australian native, had fans standing behind glass, just to get a glimpse of him.
“It's just so amazing to see him so local. It's just really amazing,” said Vanwuyckhuyse.
“I feel like it means so much,” said Alcerrea. “Usually famous people don't come here too often, but it really means a lot for him to come to Rochester.”
And their sentiments did not go unnoticed.
“It's good to be back here and perform for you guys,” said Cody Simpson to his fans. “You guys are incredible, thank you very much.”
