Brockport, N.Y.- The College at Brockport has received the largest gift in the school’s 177-year history.
The college received a $2 million anonymous donation. The gift will be used to support scholarships for Brockport students.
In a statement Tuesday, President John Halstead said, “All of us at The College at Brockport are elated by the generosity of this wonderful gift. It will be used to bolster the primary mission of the College—promoting student success. We are incredibly thankful to this wonderful couple who has chosen to invest in our students.”
The gift was made by a Brockport Professor Emeritus and his wife. School leaders say the couple felt compelled to give back to a place where they say they spent their happiest years.
