Rochester, N.Y. - The Democratic National Convention starts Tuesday in North Carolina.
Several local leaders will be there, among them City Councilman Adam McFadden.
When 13WHAM News spoke with McFadden on the phone, he said he hopes to hear a discussion about real issues, like overpopulation of prisons.
“A lot of communities are struggling with populations of people who have gone into prison and who are now coming back into society,” McFadden said. “And they don't have many opportunities.”
McFadden says fancy speeches and celebrities aside, there needs to be real dialogue about where the country is going and how we're getting there.
