Rochester, N.Y. - Rochester will be represented at this year’s Democratic National Convention.

Several local leaders will attend, including City Councilman Adam McFadden.

13 WHAM spoke to McFadden by phone on his way to Charlotte.

McFadden says he hopes to get a clear message from party leadership.

“The economy has to be the first thing, education and I'd like to see something about prison re-entry because a lot of communities are struggling with populations of people who have gone into prison and who are now coming back into society and they don't have many opportunities,” McFadden said.

McFadden said fancy speeches and celebrities aside, there needs to be some real dialogue about where this country is going and how we're getting there.
