Clarence, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a 50-year-old man who showed up at a Buffalo-area state police station to report an incident ended up arrested on a drunken driving charge.

Troopers say Ronald Baron of Clarence drove to the state police station in his suburban hometown on Sunday to report an incident. During their investigation, troopers determined he was intoxicated.

Police say a breath test determined he had a blood-alcohol content of .24 percent, three times the legal limit for driving while intoxicated.

Baron was charged with DWI and released. He's due to appear in Clarence Town Court at a later date.

Police haven't released details of the incident Baron was reporting when he was arrested.
