New York, N.Y. - Daily Show host Jon Stewart will take a three-month leave from his show this summer to direct a serious film.

Stewart will lead the team producing the film "Rosewater."

It is based on a real-life journalist imprisoned in Iran after clerics accuse him of being a spy.

After his release, the journalist became friends with Stewart.

Comedian Jon Oliver will fill in as The Daily Show host.
