(13WHAM-TV) – ABC TV’s “Dancing With The Stars” has been on for years, but its popularity still sends people to local dance studios.
Some couples at a studio in Pittsford have been dancing for many years; others, for just a few years. But they all say they say they're glad to see ballroom dancing gaining exposure.
“I think in today's world we don't see a lot of classiness,” said owner Kathryn Kearney of the Arthur Murray Dance Studio. “There is something about ballroom dancing that's so classy and elegant…I think that draws people in.”
“Dancing With the Stars” just declared a new champion couple.
As the 15th season of the show came to sparkling close Wednesday night, Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani won the mirror ball trophy.
In second place was Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough, and in third was Kelly Monaco and Val Chmerkovskiy.
