Perinton, N.Y. - Former State Assemblyman David Koon is seeking the seat he lost in the state legislature in 2010.

Koon announced he is running for the 135th Assembly District against Mark Johns.

Johns, a Republican, defeated the Democrat Koon in November 2010 by a margin by two percent of the vote.

The 135th Assembly District includes parts of Penfield, Perinton, Webster and East Rochester.

In a post on his Facebook page, Koon wrote:

"Two years away from Albany has left me with a renewed enthusiasm for working to affect positive change in the Capitol, and to continue to fight for the needs of the 135th district. For that reason, I have decided to run this November to win back my old Assembly seat."
