Oakfield, N.Y. - One man is dead and another seriously injured after a crash Thursday night in the town of Oakfield, according to Genesee County Sheriff's deputies.
Deputies say the driver, 21-year-old Stephen Ferry, lost control of the car while driving on Lockport Rd. shortly before 7:30 p.m.
The car slid across a lawn, hit several small pine trees, then crashed into a large tree - apparently ejecting the passenger in the car.
The passenger is identified as 19-year-old Jonathan Coombs.
Ferry was declared dead at the scene of the crash.
Coombs was taken by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
No update on his condition yet.
