Illusions are just that. Right or wrong. It is what it is and to keep on about it will change nothing. Geeze...I feel like CR is back. Loves the Monroe County Sheriffs hates the RPD. Get off the cops, chances are same circumstances different police the results would have been different. One of the police officers just happened to be an ex paramedic who followed his instinct. Enough said.

To answer your statement (concerned) what bothers me is that this situation creates the illusion that their lives are more important or more valuable if you would do it for one you should do it for all in that situation

just for an added note I asked a friend of my wife whose husband is a county deputy and he also stated that what those three did was not the wisest thing in the world to do if that officer would have died it could of been on their shoulders this ladies husband is one of the few cops I have ever met who does his job and doesnt expect any special treatment and trets all people like he wants to be treated and johnny I hate to tell you but if you read my earlier post I am a very happy person with a wonderful life with the exception that i can barely walk anymore and the reason most of these post are on the other side is that the general public does not tend to read this and most of these people are cops or ex cops and very few citizens and I would bet that if you polled the general public you would be suprised at the outcome I am sure

Hey mike give it up. It is obvious everyone thinks differently than you. You think maybe, just maybe there's a pattern there. Well there is! You are a very sick individual and should most likely seek professional help. It may even be possible for someone,somehow to get through to your twisted mind. You must really enjoy being miserable and making sure people around you are to. Thats all I have to say have a rotten life!

I will take a shot at it. (no pun intended). I have read all the posts and can see both sides. What I expect an officer to do when they show up is their job. Depending on the circumstances. If someone is laying in the street secure the site and wait for the ambulance. In the case of the officer down they worked with each other. Of course they will take care of the officer down. Now in either scenario I am not saying its right or wrong. But I will say that the police are not tasked to run everyone who is shot or hurt to the hospital. That is what the EMT's are for. In this circumstance it was a special instance. Would I do the same for a fellow worker? You betcha, in other circumstances would I follow the rules? You betcha. I hope this answers your question.

Its amazing that once I asked the question of what a officer should do on a normal call that there are no more posts to this forum its because you know I am right maybe you should face the truth and realize what joke the police are

puckman I agree 100 percent what I dont like is the special treatment somr people get because of who they are or what they do I to am disabled because of my job and am barely able towalk each day but I look back on all the peoples lives I touched and helped during my 13 years of paid and volunteer fire and paramedic service and am glad I had the opportunity to do so I am just saddened when I see something like this because I know almost no one else would have gotten thi skind of treatment and dont get me wrong I am glad the officer is allright I just wish everyone could be treated the same and johnny say something else please

I have nothing more to say on this matter. A police officer was injured and is recovering and this is a great thing for him, his family, friends and citizens that he has helped in the line of duty. Everyone makes an impact on someones life everyday and it doesn't matter who they are or what they do. It is the actions of how they do it that makes the difference. What is is. No one can change that. The past is the past and we try to make each day forward a better day. I am permanently disabled from a broken neck and can never work again. I focus on the things I can do now, not the things that I was able to do that I can no longer do. Unfortunatley someone else is worse off than I am physically. As long as I can function resonably everyday, I will always be there to lend a hand for those who are in need of assistance regardless of race, career, religion or character. Kindness goes along way and I am one person that can make a difference in peoples lives.
