Brighton, N.Y. - Although we've been able to drive through it for a few weeks now, the intersection at 590 and Winton Road will officially open Tuesday, October 16.
The new diverging diamond traffic pattern will become official at a ribbon cutting.
Cars won't have to make left hand turns at a light to get on 590. Instead, traffic is shifted to the left side of the Winton Road and then shifts back right again.
The goal of the new design is to eliminate back-ups and congestion.
