Pittsford, N.Y.--As students take and prepare for more state Regents exams, one teacher brought a little treat.

No, it wasn't food or an answer sheet, but his dog, Sophie.

"I felt like having her come through the school. The kids sometimes get stressed out at test time. It'd be perfect for her to come in and put a smile on their face even if they are worried about today's exam or tomorrow's exam," said Jason March, Sophie's owner.

Sophie is a certified therapy dog according to March, though she's not had a long career. This is Sophie's first job.

"It really helped me to de-stress because it was so cute and I wanted to pet it when I was studying and it helped me forget a little bit--how nervous I was," said Anna Delucia, a sophomore at Pittsford-Mendon.

Sophie's next task will likely be visiting hospitals and nursing homes according to March.
