Pittsford, N.Y.- A driver was ticketed for texting after a crash on Clover Street in Pittsford Thursday morning.

Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies say Jonathan Carey-Grimm, 18, was driving southbound on Clover Street just before 9:00 a.m. when he drifted into oncoming traffic and hit a landscaping truck head-on.

Carey-Grimm’s vehicle spun and was hit by another car.

Police say Carey-Grimm was extricated from the car by firefighters and taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver and passenger in the landscaping truck were not hurt.

The woman driving the second car was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with what appeared to be non life-threatening injuries.

Police say Carey-Grimm was ticketed for operating a motor vehicle while using a portable device and failure to keep right.
