Rochester, N.Y. - Lt. Governor Bob Duffy will be in town Wednesday to talk about the proposed expansion of the state's DNA database.
The measure would require anyone convicted of any felony or misdemeanor charge to submit DNA samples.
That would add about 46,000 DNA samples a year to the database.
Duffy will join Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley and police leaders to discuss why they want to expand DNA collections.
The Senate approved the bill Tuesday. It is now up for vote in the Assembly.
