East Bloomfield, N.Y.--Four of the seven teenagers involved in a pickup truck crash Tuesday remain hospitalized. Sisters Jessica Henry, Joelle Henry and Meagan Henry are listed in guarded condition at Strong Memorial Hospital. Haley Dewey is said to be in satisfactory condition. Three others, including the alleged driver were released from the hospital and are recovering.

"For a 19-year-old that's been through a crash like that, I'm surprised he's even speaking," said Gina Brown, mother of Alex Brown.

Ontario County Sheriff's deputies say that Brown was driving a pickup truck on Pond Road when he failed to make a sharp turn. The vehicle rolled several times before coming to a stop. Some of the passengers were ejected from the vehicle.

Investigator Gregory Shaffer said the preliminary investigation shows that Brown was the driver and the only person police are sure was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Seven people in total were in the cabin of a car Shaffer said is designed for six.

"I got to school this morning, I broke down in tears," said Tyler Fischer, a classmate of those injured.

School counselors were made available to students in need of help.

"The toughest part for me is seeing all these people down," said Keenan Whitmore, a friend of Joelle Henry who sought couseling.

The Bloomfield Central School District did not wish to comment.

Sheriff's deputies say speed was likely a factor in the crash. They expect to have an idea of how fast the pickup was traveling prior to the crash by Thursday.
