Rochester, N.Y. - A possible first on the federal bench for New York's Western district.

Rochester attorney Elizabeth Wolford has been nominated to serve as a judge for that district.

If approved, she would be the first woman to fill that role.

Senator Charles Schumer nominated Wolford for the seat left vacant by Judge Charles Siagusa in December.
