ELMIRA, N.Y. (AP) – At least 16 houses have been declared uninhabitable following Thursday’s tornado. No injuries have been reported.
NYSEG reported 13,468 homes, mostly in Elmira, are still without power as of Saturday afternoon.
Michael Smith, Chemung County emergency management director, said state and federal inspectors will continue assessing storm damage until early next week.
