Rochester, N.Y. – The inaugural Women and Girls Empowerment Weekend continued Saturday after beginning Monday.
The event, hosted by MJS Productions in partnership with the City of Rochester and the Rochester City School District, is designed to encourage and inspire women of all ages.
It features speakers, workshops and theatrical productions that emphasize self-esteem, personal development and healthy relationships.
"We are really trying to tear down any negative stereotypes and barriers that women or young girls might be confronted with on a daily basis, so that they might really tap into who they are inside and be all that they can be," said Melany Silas of MJS Productions.
The event continues through Sunday.
