(13WHAM-TV) - The Congressional Budget Office says extending the current level of long-term benefits for another week would add 300,000 jobs.

That means more money in the economy and a possible boost for job creation

The downside is--it would cost the government $30 billion.

Benefits are set to expire December 29, unless Congress approves an extension.
