Sodus Bay, N.Y. - A Rochester father and son are recovering in the hospital after a boating accident on Sodus Bay on Sunday night--the son because he fell overboard, the father for shock and exhaustion.

Wayne County Sheriff's Deputies say Eric Becoats fell overboard while making a sharp turn and couldn't swim.

He also was not wearing a life jacket.

Becoats' father couldn't stop the boat, but according to Wayne County Sheriffs, a marine officer was able to enter the boat, and regained control of it.

Meanwhile, a couple in a nearby boat threw the son a flotation device and pulled him to safety.
