Farmington, N.Y. - Emergency crews responded to a barn fire at Finger Lakes Casino and Racetrack in Farmington Thursday morning.
Ontario County emergency dispatchers say that firefighters from at least three departments were called to the thoroughbred track in Farmington shortly after 6 a.m. Thursday.
At least five horses were rescued as an estimated 40 to 50 firefighters worked on the blaze. They brought it under control by 7 a.m.
The horses rescued are pace horses—not racing horses.
