Dansville, N.Y. - When the Dansville Fire Department arrived at a house on Cemetery Road in North Dansville, the house was engulfed in flames.

The homeowners and five children escaped without injury, thanks to a smoke detector, according to the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.

The investigation is continuing, but offficials believe the fire started in an outside furnace/boiler, and then spread to the residence.
