Rochester, NY -
Cameron Williams, 19, the suspect in
the recent murder of Brandon Gordon, lived in the house at #20 Homeplace, which was destroyed by flames early Thursday. Police are investigating whether there's a connection between the murder and the fire.
Fire Investigators ruled the fire arson. Flames destroyed the home--leaving four adults and four children homeless. Williams lived in that home with his parents and siblings, until his arrest last week.
Cameron's sister returned to the house later Thursday morning. She wouldn't talk to us on-camera but told us she believes someone set the fire to get back at the Williams family because of the murder.
Firefighters were called to the house by someone on a cell phone at around 1:20 Thursday morning. They arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames.
Fire Investigators tell 13WHAM News the fire was started outside the home near the porch area.
One firefighter was injured when he was struck in the eye by a stream of water from the fire hose.
The Red Cross is helping residents with housing, food and clothes.
